VoIP en la Empresas

Hasta hace poco tiempo cuando nos planteábamos como desplegar VoIP en nuestras organizaciones se nos presentaban básicamente dos opciones: la ruptura con los modelos heredados o los sistemas con capacidad para Convergencia IP evolución de los tradicionales. En la actualidad hay más posibilidades de elección sobre todo en las pequeñas empresas, aspecto positivo que nos obliga a medir más la decisión.

Actualmente podemos hablar no sólo de hacer un despliegue de VoIP basado en softswitch, alternativa para telefonía IP exclusivamente, o de basarlo en una PBX convergente. Hoy tenemos que plantear otras opciones que pueden ser más convenientes según el tipo de empresa y el planteamiento que cara a las comunicaciones y a las inversiones se tengan.

En pequeñas empresas, donde se valorarán mucho aspectos como la simplicidad y rapidez en la instalación, hay soluciones para voz IP que no requieren ningún servidor, ya sea softswitch o PBX convergente, que no necesitan apenas configuración y ni tan siquiera que ésta sea realizada por especialistas. Me refiero a soluciones con una arquitectura peer-to-peer y con un concepto “plug and play” que nos dejará disponible la solución simplemente conectando los teléfonos IP a la red LAN. Visto esto podríamos pensar que se trata de soluciones simples que no aportarían las funcionalidades que en muchos casos se requieren, pero lo cierto es que algunas de estas soluciones proporcionan un repertorio de prestaciones que incluso rebasan lo que el usuario promedio del teléfono utiliza y por supuesto proporcionan los medios para conectarse a redes de operador, ya sea tradicional con líneas RDSI o a través de líneas virtuales IP con protocolo SIP.

Habrá que considerar no obstante las previsiones de evolución y crecimiento de la compañía, porque estas soluciones peer-to-peer pueden tocar techo muy pronto quebrándose hay nuestras expectativas, aunque por otra parte parece claro que estas nuevas arquitecturas para VoIP puede resultar una opción muy interesante para pequeños entornos donde no se quiere renunciar a un cierto nivel en las funciones, enmarcado en la sencillez de instalación y operación.
